The UK stone and worktop industry is one of the most skilled, creative and important sectors within British construction. Yet for far too long, the workmanship of craftspeople, suppliers, fabricators, and stonemasons has remained unseen, unknown, and unhonoured outside of their own specialty fields.
Over the course of 2026, we at MAI will travel more than 20,000 miles throughout England and Wales in pursuit of these individuals and the places they work. Showrooms, fabrication centres, warehouses, and private residences will be toured and photographed as we film and interview the real struggle and people behind the finished stone projects.
We are not simply hosting an awards ceremony. We are documenting and celebrating the people, businesses, craftsmanship and materials that make the UK stone and worktop industry extraordinary.

Need a hand with the MAI Awards 2026? Whether you're entering your business, casting a vote, or helping someone else take part, everything you need is here.
Welcome to the MAI Awards 2026. This section explains how the platform works, who can participate, how nominations are submitted, and how voting is conducted. Please read these guidelines carefully before taking part.
Who Can Participate?
Fabricators can submit completed projects to be nominated for their craftsmanship and expertise. Eligible submissions include worktop customer services, stone installations, trust, fabrication projects, innovations and other completed works that match the relevant award category.
Sellers can nominate natural stone and engineered stones, quartz, porcelain, ceramic, marble, granite or other materials they believe deserve recognition. Stone entries should be submitted under the appropriate award category with accurate product details and supporting images.
Anyone can vote on the MAI Awards platform, provided they follow the voting rules. Voters may include homeowners, customers, architects, interior designers, traders, fabricators, suppliers, industry professionals, friends, colleagues, or anyone wishing to recognise outstanding projects or nominated stones.
The term 'Count Me In' shown on the website refers to anyone who wants to show support for their favourites. They can enrol now, and we'll notify them once the show starts so they can cast votes for their favourites.

All decisions made by the MAI Awards team regarding eligibility and compliance are final.
You've built something worth recognising. Let's show the country.
The MAI Awards were created to shine a light on the people and companies behind the UK's stone and worktop industry — those working in the showrooms, warehouses and workshops whose work usually goes unnoticed, the fabricators and suppliers who make it all happen. If you work in the industry, we want to hear from you.
Four Steps
Browse all 25 categories across Natural Stone, Engineered Surfaces, and Worktop Fabricator Awards.
Tell us about your business, the stone you want to list, customer service or the work you're proudest of: company details, a short written submission, and photos of your work.
Strong entries include project photos, customer testimonials and any industry recognition you've already earned.
You'll receive email confirmation the moment your entry is received, so you can start to track its progress.
Finding Your Category
You're welcome to enter more than one category, provided your business genuinely qualifies in each.
Helping Others Take Part
Know a supplier, fabricator, or craftsperson worthy of recognition but unlikely to nominate themselves? You can nominate them directly — give us a few words on their work, and we'll do the rest. Word of mouth is how we find some of our most impressive entries, so let us know if you know someone doing extraordinary work.
Turning Customers Into Voters
Once you're shortlisted, your customers and community become your biggest advocates. We'll provide you with:
The businesses that do best in public voting are almost always the ones who make it easy for their customers to help. A quick message or story asking for a vote takes a minute and makes a real difference.
Tracking Your Entry
Once submitted, use your trader or seller dashboard to check your entry's status any time via the MAI platform, or contact our team directly.
If You're Shortlisted or Win
Your vote helps decide who gets recognised. Half the story of great craftsmanship is told by the people who've experienced it firsthand — that's why public voting sits at the heart of the MAI Awards.
Who can vote
Anyone — customers, industry professionals, and members of the public alike. One vote per person, per category.
Three Steps
Explore entries by category and read what makes each business or individual stand out.
Select your favourite stone or fabricator in the category they deserve, and cast your vote directly on the website. It takes less than a minute.
You'll receive confirmation the moment your vote is counted.
Yes. Public voting contributes 70% to the final result in every category, with our independent judging panel deciding the remaining 30%.
Helping a Business You Believe In
If a business you love has shared their voting link with you, following it takes you straight to their entry — no searching required. And if you'd like to do more than vote yourself:
Every extra vote, share, or word of encouragement helps a hard-working business get the recognition it deserves.

Reflecting real customer and industry experience.
Independent assessment against professional criteria.
This split ensures that popularity alone can't decide a winner — and neither can a closed-door panel. Genuine quality, recognised from both sides, wins.
Our Judging Panel
Our panel is made up of independent experts from across construction, design, and the stone industry, selected for their experience and impartiality. Full panel bios will be published closer to judging.
Judges assess every entry against four criteria
The Awards Ceremony
The winners will be celebrated through an exclusive online awards ceremony on 15th January 2027, bringing together finalists, sponsors, industry leaders, and professionals from across England and Wales.
The virtual ceremony will provide a unique platform to recognise outstanding achievements, showcase industry excellence, and celebrate the people and businesses shaping the future of the stone and worktop industry.
Further details regarding the online event schedule, streaming access, and participation information will be announced closer to the date.
Absolutely. Several awards, including Rising Star in Stone Fabrication and Stone Craftsman of the Year, are built specifically to recognise individuals, not just companies.
Being shortlisted is a genuine mark of quality. Every finalist receives a badge, a feature, and recognition across our channels regardless of the final result.
None. Entry and voting are both entirely free.
Share their unique voting link, tag them when you post about it, and encourage others in your network to vote. Genuine word-of-mouth support makes a real difference to public vote totals.
Winners are notified directly by our team ahead of the public announcement on 15th January 2027.
